This year I had the pleasure of participating in the Monster Project. For more info check out their website. Kids draw monsters and then artists depict those monsters in their own styles. It’s a wonderful way to encourage young artists in their artistic journeys.
Kids’ drawings are full of energy, enthusiasm and un-encumbered creativity. I wanted to maintain that tone and energy as much as I could. A lot of the textures were created with real colored pencil—a technique I hope to perfect in future projects.
